ABOUT ME

Tiny being with BIGĀ IDEAS

I was the girl automatically assigned to the creatives part of a group project, the girl working the props and audio booth during performances, and the girl creating unconventional paper engineered projects when they asked for a poster. My whole life revolved around crafting that my high school guidance counselor steered me away when I told her "I want to be an accountant!"(phew thank goodness for her)

Here I am today, coming in unassuming but bringing in creative ideas to the table. I've been told one of my greatest strengths is seeing designs in different angles and catching details that no one usually thinks of. Opportunities have given me the chance to lead teams as well, and I find the responsibility fulfilling.

Okay enough of my rambling, here are my credentials!

But if you're willing to stay and read more, scroll down!

Some tidbits about me

01

I am an immigrant from the Philippines

My family moved here in 2014. I was studying computer science at De La Salle University in Manila but had to transfer mid-course. I planned to switch to animation, but when that program was discontinued at the College of Southern Nevada, I pivoted to Graphic Communications instead.

I met Michael Bierut!

During the 2015 AIGA conference held in Las Vegas, I last minute decided to join the student portfolio review. Michael Bierut randomly chose the row I was in and reviewed my work! I was so starstruck. He saw my colorful typography project and said "this is why you will be a great designer."
(I try to remember this when I get impostor syndrome)

I am obsessed with crocheting

I am currently entering my cozy granny era. Crocheting gives me the brain calmer I need (but maybe also carpal tunnel).
